I’ve always lived by this simple philosophy. It’s the belief that every experience no matter how unexpected adds a layer of value that eventually becomes your greatest strength.

My own journey in Australia began exactly where many of yours starts: at a dead end. Despite being a skilled professional, I kept hearing the same four words: “You lack local experience.”

I was capable, but I was stuck. Instead of waiting for a "perfect" door to open, I took the only role available to me at the time as an Employment Consultant.

It wasn't the original plan, but it became my turning point. That role gave me something most professionals never get: a real, inside view of how the Australian hiring system actually works. I saw firsthand how decisions were made, why resumes were discarded, and how the "gap" between talent and opportunity was often just a lack of positioning.

17 Years of Insight

That curiosity sparked a 17-year career. I intentionally moved across industries, building a wide range of perspectives that eventually led me to Leading Talent Acquisition across APAC in Sydney.

Yet, as I climbed the corporate ladder, a pattern followed me. Whether it was part of my official role or a coffee chat on the weekend, I found myself constantly supporting new migrants and professionals who were facing the same hurdles I once did. I saw capable, brilliant people being overlooked not because they lacked ability, but because they lacked clarity, confidence, and direction.

I never set out to be an entrepreneur, but I did set out to make a difference.

Encouraged by the success of those I helped, I took the leap. What began as a simple idea quickly became My Career Buddy: a fast-growing, purpose-led business built on real outcomes and real impact.
